I have a few gripes with S1 for sure, but generally it's pretty darn efficient. I started this over lockdown 1 so had much more time to study the program in depth.
#CUBASE 4 STUDIO MANUAL PRO#
I like you was fed up of poor CPU performance in Cubase, and terrible stability in Pro Tools.Īt first it took a while to get used to the changes but after watching endless hours of tutorials on the web I finally managed to understand all of the things it can do. I stopped using Pro Tools in 2017 on v12.5 and have since moved over to Studio One last year. I've been a Cubase user since 2006/7 and have also been a Pro Tools users since about 2009. Other reasons I haven't committed to S1 include Cubase's control room, Mediabay, and Cubase's transient detection for "beat detective" style drum editing is better. S1 really struggles with large projects and simple tasks like saving the project, duplicating tracks & events take forever, and zooming in / out become a chore. I have both Cubase 11.0.10 and Studio One 5.2 and one of the main reasons I havent fully switched is because Cubase runs way more efficiently on my system (i9900k Hackintosh / Big Sur 11.2.2). Has anyone on here switched from Cubase to Studio One? What other pro's/con's are there with the latest versions of these DAW's? What would you recommend? What system are you running where you're getting better CPU performance from S1 over Cubase? Cubase is my main DAW. Maybe list some specific functions that are critical to your workflow so that others can comment on whether or not S1 will provide a comparable function. The trajectory of S1 development in recent years has been exciting to observe. Regarding the Quantum, the 2626 comes with a TB3 port.
#CUBASE 4 STUDIO MANUAL UPDATE#
The latest 5.2 update is really tipping the scale for me away from my primary DAW. With each S1 update and upgrade, I spend more time with it. I also find it a bit overwhelming to use compared to Logic Pro X. I'll used several DAW over the years including C11 and do agree that Cubase - although incredibly powerful and loaded with features, tends to be sluggish. You have to be willing to think how the new DAW functions instead of trying to make the new DAW work like the one you're familiar with. There will be a learning curve, true when switiching from any DAW X to Z. Watch some videos to see how S1 functions. Has anyone on here switched from Cubase to Studio One? What other pro's/con's are there with the latest versions of these DAW's? What would you recommend? However, there will be an initial learning curve and there is uncertainty how all my 3rd party vsts will reliably work with Studio One? I'm also interested in picking up the Presonus Quantum for lower latency (though am tempted to hang on and see if these will be updated at some point with Thunderbolt 3 and improved specs?). Also, the ios remote control layout and workflow looks to be much better.Īlready there is three pros to switching to Studio One (lower cpu, integrated Melodyne and interaction with Notion).
#CUBASE 4 STUDIO MANUAL SOFTWARE#
I also use Presonus Notion as my main score software and have this installed on my iPad as well as my studio PC. I know a few colleagues are using Presonus Studio One and I noticed this integrates with Melodyne which is a vst I use quite a bit. However, I do use Cubasis 3 on my iPad and I may miss being able to easily transfer projects across from this.
#CUBASE 4 STUDIO MANUAL UPGRADE#
I also find the workflow can be quite convoluted at times and the upgrade prices are WAY overpriced at times! As a result I'm considering jumping ship. I've been a Cubase user for almost 30 years but have always found it uses noticeably more cpu than other DAW's I've tried and it feels sluggish.
